Dario Sacchini

He is Associate Professor of Bioethics at the Department of Healthcare Surveillance and Bioethics of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC). He teaches Bioethics at UCSC “A. Gemelli” School of Medicine (Rome) and at UCSC School of Economics (Rome). His main research fields/expertise in Bioethics are: Ethical domain in Health Technology Assessment (HTA); Ethics Committees; Clinical Ethics. He is member of the following bodies: Board of Directors of Italian Society of HTA (SIHTA); HTA International (HTAi) and past-cochair of HTAi Interest Group on Ethics; Board of the European Association of Centers of Medical Ethics (EACME); Pontifical Academy for Life. Particularly in HTA Ethical domain, he collaborates/collaborated within the following EU Research Projects: European Network for HTA (EUnetHTA) (2006-2021); Integrated health technology assessment for evaluating complex technologies (INTEGRATE-HTA) (2013-15); Values in doing assessments of healthcare technologies (VALIDATE) (2018-2021); Intelligent digital tools for screening of brain connectivity and dementia risk estimation in people affected by mild cognitive impairment (AI-MIND) (2021-25); Novel health care strategies for melanoma in children, adolescents and young adults” (MELCAYA) (2023-26); The first European Digital Health Technology Assessment framework co-created by all stakeholders along the value chain (EDiHTA) (2024-27). He has contributed to the introduction of the HTA Ethical domain in Italy, collaborating within several national HTA processes joined with UCSC Altems Advisory; UCSC VIHTALI; National Institute of Health (ISS); AgeNAS. He contributed to the implementation of the Ethical domain in HTA function at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario “A. Gemelli” IRCCS since 2008. He is author/coauthor of more than 300 international/national publications.

Michele Basile

He is a health economist whose scientific activities focused on the fields of Pharmacoeconomics, decision-making models, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), patient involvement and patient advocacy. His background includes a Master’s Degree in Health Economics achieved at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and a Master’s Degree in Science in Health Economics achieved at the University of York. He collaborated with the Health Department of the Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He is a external consultant of the Department of Epidemiology of Regione Lazio and has been a member of the National Table of the Ministry of Health on Pharmacy Services as an expert. He has been consultant of VIHTALI Srl. Is a member of the scientific secretariat of the Health Policy Forum of SIHTA. He has been didactic coordinator of the Master “Management of biomedical and biotechnological companies” of ALTEMS, Università Cattolica. He has been involved in EU research project: Munros, SPRINT-T, IMPACT HTA, AI-Mind, PROPHET. He has published in journals specialized in Health Economics and clinical journals.

Filippo Rumi

He is a health economist whose scientific activities focused on the fields of Pharmacoeconomics, decision-making models, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), patient involvement and patient advocacy. His background includes a Master’s Degree in Health Economics achieved at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and a Master’s Degree in Science in Health Economics achieved at the University of York. He collaborated with the World Organization of Healthcare (WHO) in Geneva and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He has been a member of the National Table of the Ministry of Health on Pharmacy Services as an expert. He has been consultant of VIHTALI Srl. He is a member of the scientific of the Health Policy Forum of SIHTA and a member of the HTA Laboratory of SIFO.
He is lecturer of Pharmacoeconomics in the Farmacy Degree Course at Università Cattolica. He has been involved in EU research project: Munros, SPRINT-T, IMPACT HTA, PROPHET. He has published in journals specialized in Health Economics and clinical journals.

Eugenio Di Brino

He is a health economist whose scientific activities focused on the fields of Pharmacoeconomics, decision-making models, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), patient involvement and patient advocacy. His background includes a Master of Science in HTA at ALTEMS (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) and a elective course in healt economics modelling at the University of York. He collaborated with the Health Department of the Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He has been a member of the National Table of the Ministry of Health on Pharmacy Services as an expert and research assistant at the The National Center for HTA of the Italian National Institute of Health. He has been consultant of VIHTALI Srl and CERISMAS. He is Project Coordinator of Patient Advocacy Lab (PAL) of ALTEMS. Is a member of the scientific secretariat of the Health Policy Forum of SIHTA and he is a member of the scientific technical committee of SIHTA. He is didactic coordinator of the Master “Patient Avocacy Management and International Patient Advocacy Management” of ALTEMS, Università Cattolica. He has been involved in EU research project: Munros, SPRINT-T, IMPACT HTA, PROPHET, UNCAN. He has published in journals specialized in Health Economics and clinical journals.

Debora Antonini

She is a health economist with expertise in Pharmacoeconomics, decision-making models, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). She holds a Master’s Degree in Health Economics at Sapienza University of Rome and a Master’s in Evaluation and Management of Health Technologies at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Her professional experience includes collaboration with the Graduate School of Health Economics and Management (ALTEMS) in the HTA department. She is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on digital transformation to support chronic diseases, with a specific focus on the added value of telemonitoring for the integrated management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). She is completing an internship at the Italian National Agency for Regional Healthcare Services (AGENAS), specifically within the UOC HTA, where she actively contributes to various projects. This experience further strengthens her expertise in healthcare evaluation and management.

Elena Maria Calosci

She is a pharmacist whose scientific activities focused on the fields of Pharmacoeconomics and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Her background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology achieved at LUMSA University of Rome, a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Neuroscience achieved at Università di Roma, la Sapienza and a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy achieved at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. She passed the government exam and licensed as a profession psychologist and pharmacist. During her studies, she completed an internship in the UFA department of the Hospital Pharmacy at the Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli. She completed a 2nd level Master in Organization and Management of Healthcare Companies and Services (OGASS), basic profile, at ALTEMS, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

Giulia Falasca

She is a pharmacist and a PhD student in Health Systems and Service Research at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome. Her research interests focus on Health Technology Assessment (HTA), with particular attention to the regulatory, organizational and health economics aspects of medicinal products. Her PhD work examines vaccination strategies across Italian regions, analyzing their organizational models and the economic impact of vaccination in the elderly. She has contributed to several scientific studies presented at international conferences (EHMA, ISPOR) and national conferences (SIHTA). She is actively involved in organizing the master’s program in Market Access.

Agostino Fortunato

He is a health economist with a scientific focus on pharmacoeconomics, decision-making models, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). His academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Health Economics and a Master of Science in Market Access, both earned at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He has collaborated with the Value & Market Access Department at MSD Italy. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in the HTA department, concentrating on the National Chronicity Plan 2025. His research explores the inclusion of new chronic diseases and evaluates how emerging policies could enhance the economic efficiency of the National Health System.

Sofia Di Pippo

She is a PhD student in Health Systems and Service Research, at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome. Her research interests focus on organization studies and specifically on the competencies of healthcare professionals. During her doctoral work, she is analyzing the dynamics related to the delivery of telemedicine services in pediatric settings and assessing the impact they have on the stakeholders involved (patients, professionals, and organizations).In ALTEMS, since 2023, she has been a part of the SCHOLA Lab, which is dedicated to developing managerial skills for professionals in managerial and strategic positions in the health sector. Among the laboratory's many activities, she took part in the projects "Managerial Skills in Healthcare: Role, Impact, and Prospects for Training" and "The Role of General Managers in Clinical Research in Italy.“ She is a member of EGOS (European Group of Organization Studies) and AOM (Academy of Management- HRM and OB divisions), and she has presented several scientific works during international and national conferences. She is actively involved in the courses of Human Resources Management and Business Organization and supports the organization of the master’s program in Healthcare Profiles Organization and Management - Executive Profile.

Ilaria Sciomenta

She is a pharmacist with expertise in pharmacoeconomics and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). She graduated in Pharmacy from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and obtained her professional license from Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata. She also completed a 2nd level Master in Market Access at ALTEMS, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

Ilaria Valentini
Economista San.
She is a research fellowship in Hygiene and Public Health at the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Perugia. A health economist, her scientific activities are focused on Pharmacoeconomics, decision-making models, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and medical statistics. She holds a Master’s Degree in Health Economics and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health Systems and Service Research at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Additionally, she frequeted an elective course in Advanced Statistical Methods in Economic Evaluation for HTA at the University of York. She is a lecturer in applied statistics at several universities and serves as an external consultant for the Department of Epidemiology, Regione Lazio. Her research experience includes participation in EU projects such as EDiHTA and THCS. She has published her work in leading Health Economics and clinical journals.

Roberta Laurita

She is a research Fellow at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Faculty of Economics, Department of Management Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Management and Innovation, at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. And she has been a visiting PhD student at the School for Business and Society in York, UK (3 months). Since 2018 she is a Researcher at Altems (Graduate School of Economic and Management of healthcare systems) where she also coordinates a master program in Market Access by collaborating with the industry and the main institutions involved in the process. Her research interests focus on organization studies and specifically on micro and macro level dynamics: multidisciplinary teams and intra and inter organizational relations in healthcare (e.g networks). During her PhD she examined the antecedents and the dynamics that lead healthcare professionals, working in team, to span their boundaries. Furthermore, she analyzed the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on teamworking practices also considering patients’ perspective collaborating with some important patients’ associations. She is a member of EURAM (European Academy of Management), EGOS (European Group of Organization Studies) and AOM (Academy of Management- HCM and OB divisions) and she presented several scientific works during International and National Conferences. She also coordinates the Scientific Secretariat of SIHTA (Italian Society of Health Technology Assessment) and of the Health Policy Forum in Italy. Those scientific societies aim at creating an opportunity for meeting and debate among all the stakeholder involved in Health Technology Assessment activities in Italy.

Ten-years at Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA), coordinating for three years the AIFA registries (01/2014-01/2017) specialized in product-based registries (focus on oncology & rare disease) and patient-level managed entry agreement (MEA) (performance-based risk sharing and financial-based). Lecturer with Collaboration Agreement for Research Projects at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Rome Italy - School of Health Economics and Management (ALTEMS). Member of Steering Scientific Committee of RWE4Decision. Lecturer in training and speaker in national and international courses and master’s degree, conferences/congresses on drug regulatory, HTA and pricing and reimbursement topics.
